President Jimmy Carter's 100th Birthday Live @ CMCM TONIGHT @ 7:00 PM

President Jimmy Carter's 100th Birthday Jamboree Live @ CMCM!

Tonight/Tuesday, October 1st @ 7:00 PM

CMCM Member Barbara McVeigh and ABC Host Spencer Christian will be hosting the celebration of Jimmy Carter’s 100th Birthday live at CMCM. This year Spencer, who MC'd for The Carters twice for their birthdays in Georgia, will drive the broadcast of The Jimmy Carter Jamboree, a seven year effort to celebrate President Carter, marking his 100th birthday, the first former president in United States history to do so.

Spencer Christian is not only is from Georgia, but he also wrote his own book about Jim Crow laws that he experienced in the South. Carter was a staunch human rights activist, in his own right. It's a real education to understand the collaboration between Jimmy Carter and the Martin Luther King, Jr. legacy, both in Atlanta, Georgia.

CPUC is asking for public comments

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is soliciting public comment for cable television and internet services for consumers. Please let them know you'd like to see Marin TV channels in the High Definition format we actually send to the cable companies. Our HD signal is then downconverted by the cable operators to a standard definition signal when delivered to cable TV homes, the result is an overall loss of detail making important graphics and captions presented in municipal meetings become unreadable. We think Marin cable TV subscribers deserve better.

To see the official CPUC page visit: https://www.cpuc.ca.gov/regulatory-services/licensing/video-franchising

To submit a written comment to the CPUC, go to this page and click on the Public Comments tab at the top: https://apps.cpuc.ca.gov/apex/f?p=401:56::::RP,57,RIR:P5_PROCEEDING_SELE...

Larry Bryson’s Art Gallery Closing @ CMCM (Friday, September 20th @ 6:00 PM)

Larry Bryson’s Art Gallery Reception @ CMCM!

Friday, September 20th @ 6:00 PM

Local artist Larry Bryson shares his story about his artwork:

“There are unique moments, images, feelings, sounds, aromas presenting themselves all of the time. My work celebrates this diversity, and I hope to cause a few more. The feeling of home depends on this. Beauty depends on this. Awareness of this sort of thing is an artistic sense we all have. What is new here? My art is to show these moments in a new light and share with fellow artistic companions.

I create images that suggest my home area in California. The shape of hills, plants and animals right here, fitted together, only happens here. That is home. I have an interesting, vibrant home with its shape and color. I also seek to display a different point of view. Some plein air painters tend to show very similar angles of view with x%

foreground, y% middle ground, and z% distance. I prefer to skew emphasis towards what that image offers that is not average.”

Join Marin TV at The Marin County Fair!

The Community Media Center of Marin will have a booth at the indoor Art Exhibit at the Marin County Fair. Come join us for the festivities!

The award-winning Marin County Fair is the County’s premier community event with over 120,000 attendees annually. Marin County, just north of San Francisco, is rich in creativity, nature, and community. Frank Lloyd Wright described Marin County as “one of the most beautiful landscapes” he had ever seen, with green rolling hills providing the perfect backdrop for a county fair.

The Marin County Fair is produced by the Marin County Department of Cultural Services in partnership with the Marin Cultural Association.

Celebrated as the Healthiest and Greenest County Fair on Earth since 2008, the Marin County Fair proudly features a solar powered carousel, solar powered stage, and a 92% waste diversion rate. The Fair offers fresh and healthy food choices, alcohol-free sponsorships, and a smoke-free environment for the enjoyment of all.

The Marin County Fair inspires through traditional values — Art. Agriculture. Community.
