The Hooked on Marin speaker series is a community-based partnership comprised of Marin county public service agencies and educational districts collaborating to foster social, educational, and cultural enrichment opportunities in Marin. Video coverage is provided by the Drake High School Communications Academy in a partnership between CMCM and the Intel Computer Clubhouse. CMCM trained four separate multi-camera production teams to cover each of the talks.

The Community Media Center of Marin’s popular series of master classes goes virtual via Zoom with compelling media-related topics presented by experts in their field.

On Thursday, October 8 (6:30 – 8:30 PM), the power to create and collaborate online can be in the palm of your hands. In this master class, you'll connect the dots between technology and great Surrealist ideas. Painter, sculptor, installation artist, photographer, and filmmaker David Normal will show you how to tap into your playful inner abstract artist and easily produce instant art on your smartphone or tablet for free.

CMCM’s virtual "Ask the Experts" presentations are free for CMCM members. $25 non-member fee includes one-year membership to CMCM plus free admittance to all “Ask the Experts” presentations in this series.

"marINSANITY," Marin TV's crazy funny stand-up comedy show, returns Monday, August 17. Want a few laughs? Who doesn’t these days? Join the fun via Zoom at 7 PM for some laughs, compliments of the Bay Area's best and brightest comedians. Ask the Experts: Journey of the Independent Author TONIGHT April 29

Thinking about self-publishing your memoir? In "Journey of the Independent Author," memoir author Wendy Menara will explain, in practical detail, the creative and business processes she experienced launching her first book. She will also share the steps she took to land a spot on Kirkus Reviews Best Indie Books 2020.

This "Ask the Experts" master class will be presented Thursday, April 29 (7:00 – 8:30 PM) via Zoom.

"Ask the Experts" are free to CMCM members. Non-member registration of $25 includes a year-long membership to CMCM and admittance to all "Ask the Experts" presentations in this series. Register at www.cmcm.tv/asktheexperts.

Harry Belafonte Tribute Program!

Dominican University and The Magic Flute hosted a special tribute to Harry Belafonte for his 96th birthday on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 with a special screening of "The Man Behind The White Guitar" with a special performance by Belafonte's dear friend and Brazilian Guitarist, José Neto. Neto served Belafonte for 30 years as lead guitarist and musical director!

CMCM Producers Honored by Marin County Fair

CMCM members Kathleen Nemetz and Jon Pearlstone were awarded an Honorable Mention at the 2017 Marin County Fair for a video they co-produced for Marin TV. "Ride Baby Ride" is about kids who "rope and lope" as they learn equestrian skills at the Novato Horsemen's Club. The 60-year-old non-profit organization serves the horse community of the greater Bay Area with a variety of worthwhile programs. Congratulations, Kathleen and Jon!
