Carol Jacobsen presents “Women of Color and Accomplishment”!

Marin TV is pleased to showcase “Women of Color and Accomplishment” paintings from artist Carol Jacobsen at the Georgia Anwell Gallery at the Community Media Center of Marin.

Check below for more info and here is her statement for the community members:

"The body of work included in this show is my creative response to the murder of George Floyd. Watching the horrific video of his murder and the subsequent attacks on protesters by white supremacists motivated me to find a way to fight racism. Like other social justice painters, I decided to use my skills to help people look beyond the color of one’s skin and instead judge them by their character.

Virtual Gallery: "Acceptance"

“Acceptance,” a virtual gallery of small mixed-media watercolors by multi-talented artist David Normal, is being presented by the Community Media Center of Marin through December 31.

“Henry Miller wrote an essay on watercolor painting in which he exuberantly revels in his ineptitude as a watercolorist, frankly stating how he just didn’t give a damn how they turned out because he was having so much fun just being himself, accepting himself, and making a mess with the paints,” explains Normal. “My mind often turned to these sentiments of Miller’s, and [these] watercolors were made in a similar spirit. They are not just paintings. To me, they are the by-products of a spiritual evolution from egotistical insecurity to psychic self acceptance. And that is why I have titled the series, ‘Acceptance.’”

Net Neutrality Is Dead. Here's How to Get It Back

Net Neutrality has been the elephant in the regulatory room for over 10 years and our representatives have still failed to notice it. This lack of adequate protection has resulted in the court ruling today - the worst of all scenarios. Free Press has a petition/letter campaign launched - if this issue concerns you - take action here.

Net Neutrality Is Dead. Here's How to Get It Back

This piece originally appeared in the Huffington Post.

Three judges in D.C. just killed Net Neutrality.

This could be the end of the Internet as we know it. But it doesn't have to be.

The big news: A federal appeals court on Tuesday struck down the Federal Communications Commission's Open Internet Order. This decision means that companies like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon — which brought the lawsuit — are now free to block or slow down any website, application or service they like.
