Caravana 43 on Marin TV

Caravana 43 is a project developed with the purpose of bringing to the United States parents and classmates of the 43 Normalista students who disappeared in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico on September 26, 2014. Three Caravanas will visit more than 40 cities from the US/Mexico border along the Pacific, Central, and Atlantic region states. Their main purpose is to provide an international forum for the parents who have lost their children to a government of systemic violence and impunity.

Marin TV was honored to cover several of the Caravana 43 Bay Area events and to host a conversation with two parents from Ayotzinapa, one sibling, and one surviving student of the 43 who vanished.

In a show of solidarity with other US cities such as Pomona, Austin, and San Francisco, the town of Fairfax and the Marin County Board of Supervisors passed resolutions in support of a full investigation into the disappearance.

Marin TV Goes Black in Observance of April 16

You may have noticed the Marin TV channels were black this morning. We could make up all sorts of excuses and snarky explanations, but in reality we had a big UPS unit fail which took down most of our equipment for several hours. We have since bypassed power and are up and running again - our apologies for any inconvenience!

Presenters will be renowned photographer Sharon Caplan Cohen, whose work will be on display in the CMCM Gallery during April; and "Arizmendi's Secret," a documentary produced by CMCM member Phil Murphy in collaboration with videographer/editor Jeanette Egenlauf. Join the staff from Arizmendi Bakery for a sneak preview of this short subject before it airs on Marin TV.
